Vicious Ambitions (BWWM Romance) (Wife Secrets Book 1) Page 3
I took the card but could only think about how I hated her smug round face. Every time I was late she seemed to make an expression at me that I didn’t care for. I didn’t care for her short buzz cut either but out of respect I never said anything. She had a thing about being punctual that I admired when I hired her. But now it was just getting on my damn nerve. She was perfect. Almost too perfect, but I took a deep breath remembering the reasons why she aced getting this job in the first place.
“Thank you Tara,” I smiled sarcastically. “Please hold all of my calls while I’m in session.”
“As usual, ma’am.” Tara handed me a slew of envelopes that had been left overnight for me in my mailbox.
I rolled my eyes, passing the crescent moon shaped desk and headed down the hall towards my office. I wish I had called ahead of schedule to cancel the damn appointment, as I was in no mood to hear anyone whine about their problems when I was too busy focusing on my own. Racing through my office door, I slammed my bag down on the ground and tossed the endless amount of envelopes onto my elongated oak wooden desk. My office was a modest size. It was cozy and quaint with rubber plants and cool colors everywhere to create a warm ambiance. The female sitting on my black plush loveseat had her bony legs crossed. She was puffing on a lit cigarette and was swinging one leg back and forth over the other, pointing her toes to accentuate her expensive red bottom heels. If it weren’t for the dark blazer over her matching body-con dress, I would’ve sworn that she was on her way to the club or something.
“Uh, hi Eva Monroe. I’m Dr. Kelly Jamison. Thank you for baring with my tardiness this morning,” I said as I sat down in my oversized leather office chair near the loveseat, grabbing my yellow notepad and pen.
“Yeah. I hear you’re late often.” She sucked hard on her cancer stick.
That bitch Tara obviously had a bit too much mouth on her.
“Well, if you could kindly put the cigarette out since there is no smoking in this building, we can get started. After all, the sessions only last an hour.” My lips curled sarcastically as I snatched her patient card from my desk. “So, what brings you in here today?”
“I’m all fucked up doc. I don’t know what to do about a lot of things. So my mother thought it would be best if I talked to the school shrink rather than leave school to pursue a career in porn. Which is what I really want to do, by the way,” she mocked as she dumped her cigarette in her coffee mug, blowing the remaining smoke from her lips coolly.
“I see. So it says here that you’re twenty years old and your major is dance. Tell me why you chose that major.” I only asked that question to make small talk and run down the clock.
As she spoke, I thought about things that I could do for Trent. I even jotted them down on the notepad when I probably should have been taking notes about the shit she was talking about. Honestly, I could care less what this spoiled rich kid from the suburbs was talking about. She had no real problems and partied her life away on mommy and daddy's dime. But the bitch could only think about squandering her life away with her legs spread open the entire time. And, for some reason her parents took it upon themselves to waste money paying me to fix her. Not even Jesus could save her, in my eyes.
“Okay, and what made you want to get into the porn industry?”
“I just think that life is better suited doing something that makes you feel good. My parents only sent me to this hellhole of a school because they wanted me to be just like them. They want me to bust my ass in the books and work my way up to mediocre jobs begging to get to the top of fortune 500 companies and shit. But that’s their lives, not mine. I don’t want to have to work that damn hard. But they’re threatening to take my Trust if I don’t graduate college, so here I am.”
“And you couldn’t think of anything else but porn? What about modeling? You’re a very attractive young lady.” It was funny that I actually thought she was very pretty.
“Still with the struggling. I just want to fuck then get paid. Easiest $5000 a scene I’ll ever make.”
“Wow. That’s impressive. So you’ve done your homework.” My sarcasm was evident.
“Hell yeah. I could make more in one month on my back then you do in six months,” she boasted licking her lips before smiling brightly. “Anyway, my parents are threatening to cut me off and I can’t have that. At least not until my career takes off. My man said he was going to help me make it happen.”
“So your boyfriend approves of your choice as well?” I looked at the time as the timer on my desk buzzed.
“Yep,” Eva replied as she stood wrapping her purse strap around her shoulder. “He’s married so he has to keep me happy or else. Same time next week, doc?”
My eyes widened as she eyed me and walked out the office. Eva was not only a grown spoiled brat but she was also a home wrecker. It was bitches like her that made it hard for married women like my girls and I. We were good women who didn’t deserve the shit that our men was sending us through and had to resort to drastic measures just to keep them interested. I felt sorry for the woman who would undoubtedly and eventually find out about the affair her husband was having. If she weren’t having one of her own, her heart would definitely be destroyed. Men think they can get away with the shit but we always find out, always.
Chapter 4
I see you
Thank God for the weekends. It was always my time to get some rest and take a breather from the hustle and bustle of the workweek. Unfortunately, it was also the time that Trent worked endlessly on his projects leaving me waking in the morning in bed alone. He was a web developer and a damn successful one too. I never knocked the man for his work but I always regretted that it took him out of bed away from me. I often rubbed the empty space next to me where he slept just so I could get the feel for him that I so desperately yearned for.
I hopped out of bed, headed to the master bath feeling as though my stomach was about to jump out of my body. Brushing my teeth didn’t make my stomach feel any better, prompting me to quickly head downstairs in search of some breakfast. As usual, Trent was at his desk near the patio but this morning he was talking on the phone. I tiptoed through the living room and into the kitchen so as not to disturb him. This $200,000 dollar home was freshly built along side of Lake Michigan, so the floors barely made any creaks. I opened the refrigerator, snatching out a banana from its bunch and ripping it open. I stuffed it in my mouth like it was the last tasty morsel on Earth, quickly grabbing another while I watched Trent turn around sending his voice into a lower pitch.
“Morning, hun.” Trent walked into the kitchen a few minutes later, placing his cell on the marble island counter.
“Early start?” I side eyed him, awaiting another one of his lies.
“Yeah, I’ve gotta go meet with a client about something. I made eggs and bacon. It’s over there on the stove.” He pointed before grabbing his keys from the key dish.
“What? Right now? Baby, it’s 8:30am in the morning on a Saturday for Christ’s sakes. I thought we might spend the day together. You know, to reconnect.” I rubbed my hands from his abs to his back, locking him in for a warm embrace.
“Well, we’ve got all day to hang out, Kelly. But I’ve got to make sure this work is done properly.” Trent pried my hands from his waist. “I’ve gotta go.”
“Trent, what’s happening to us? I mean, you’re coming in later and later at night and you’re supposedly working all day. Just tell me her name.” I slammed my hand on the counter.
“Nothing’s happening with me. What’s happening with you, though?”
“What?” I shook my head, wondering why he loved to confuse me.
“That thing the other night when the crew was here watching the football game. That whole sex thing. What was that about?”
“It was about giving you men what the fuck you wanted. You motherfuckas always want to go out here and cheat but when we slap you right in the face with your fantasies, then you bitch up.” My hand raised wildly in the air as did
my voice.
“There you go on that crazy shit again, Kel. I’m not about to go through this shit with you today. I’ve gotta go.”
“Just tell me her fucking name, Trent. Or what, you’re not man enough to come clean and tell me you’re still sleeping around on me?” My voice raised two octaves. “I’m not stupid.”
“Man, I just said I’m not about to keep going through this shit with you. You want me to say there’s another chick so you can come out with whom you’re fucking, don’t you? You don’t have to keep shaking me down about it. Just tell me who he is.”
“Oh no. You’re not about to turn this around on me. Don’t worry about it, Trent. I already know you’re fucking some other bitch, so I don’t even need her name. Just know that I know. You go on to your whore and make sure you fuck her good. Don’t come back here when you’re done, motherfucka.”
“If you want to leave then be my guess,” Trent laughed so hard his grin was wider than usual. “You can’t put me out of what you don’t rightfully own. My name is on the mortgage. Remember?”
He was right. He had purchased the house right before we got married and walked me across the threshold after we came back from our honeymoon as a surprise. It never dawned on me to rework the papers to get my name on them. Never in a billion years would I have imagined that I would have to go through the shit that he was sending me through. He was acting as if he didn’t love me anymore, as if I never meant anything to him. His coldness sent shockwaves through my body and once they reached the top my headaches came swarming back.
“Trent—“ I called after in the faint hope that he would take pity on me from the gloomy expression pouring on my face.
“Are you leaving or not?”
“You will not kick me out of my own damn house," I huffed.
“Then shut the fuck up then.” He cut his eyes to his vibrating cell, snatching it and shoving it in his army fatigue colored cargo shorts pocket. “I’ll be home later.”
The man couldn’t have gotten out of there soon enough and as the front door slammed behind him. I broke down and cried. My knees hit the tiled kitchen floor followed by my hands and head. I balled up into a fetal position unwilling to move, allowing the tears to flow like a faucet from my eyes. He was a low down dirty motherfucking bastard who was dead wrong for treating me like the shit on the bottom of his shoe. Simply thinking about it could’ve had me crying forever. Staring at the clock on my red and black microwave, I realized I had been down there on the floor for over an hour.
I could hear my cell phone ringing in the distance, automatically knowing it was one of the girls trying to reach me. I was in no mood to counsel anyone on their love life when mine was so clearly in ruin. I put on a great daily façade that it wasn’t as nearly as bad as it actually was. It was worse though. My lungs felt like they were closing in on me as I gasped for air. My eyes were burning and I coughed trying to remove the itching from my throat that wasn’t really there at all. He had hurt me to my core and had done it for the last time.
My cell kept ringing back to back. I wiped my tears as I peeled myself off the floor and headed up the stairs to see who it was. Plopping down in my lonely king sized bed that hadn’t seen action in weeks, I snatched my Galaxy from the nightstand staring at the caller ID. It was Briana. My watery eyes rolled to the back of my head looking at the four missed calls all from her and as I missed yet another one of her calls, Beyoncé’s Ring The Alarm blasted through my phone’s speaker once more.
“What is it, Bri? This is really not a good time.” I pulled myself together a bit so I didn't sound like a blubbering fool.
“Girl, when I first called you, I was calling to ask you if you thought something was going on between Samantha and Julian. But I’m sitting here having lunch with my friend and we just saw your man and some skank come walking in holding hands, girl.” Briana was one to over emphasize her words but I knew there was no mistaking what she saw. If nothing else, she was one who always got her gossip facts straight.
“Are you sure it’s him, Bri?” I sat up in the bed abruptly, combing through my hair roughly with my hand.
“Girl, I’ve got 20/20 and I think I should know your fine ass man when I see him by now. Okay? I should know him well enough now, don’t you think?”
“Yeah…yeah I guess you should.”
“Bitch, do you want me to snatch him or what?” She asked as her friend repeated after her.
“Um, uh, no. No, just leave him alone. Let me handle it.”
“Kelly, if you’re too scary to confront this bitch I got you. I’ll dog walk that bitch for you right here, right now and you know this. My girl, Portia, is here with me. All you gotta do is say the word and we’re going straight to the trunk of the Benz to get our sneakers. You just say the word bitch and I got you.”
I knew she was dead ass serious. She would’ve fucked that girl up on sight and got a few stomps in on Trent’s ass too. My heart pounded so hard, I thought it would jump out of my chest. Secretly, I wanted his ass to get the beating of his life along with the bitch he had sunk his paws into. They both needed to pay for the hell I had been through while they had tons of fun. He was supposed to be my husband, yet he was out in the open being seen with another female without even remotely thinking of how it affected me. So even if they got their asses whooped in the broad daylight of the public, no good would come of it. It wouldn’t have solved a damn thing.
“Naw, Bri. I appreciate all that you and your friend are trying to do, but I’ve gotta handle this on my own.” I shook my head in abhorrence at the disrespect he was displaying in front of the entire world.
“I mean this fool is all out in the open with the shit Kel, not even trying to hide it girl. If you don’t snatch his ass then you know I will.” Briana was heated.
“No, it’s all good, B. But thanks girl,” I sighed feeling humiliated. “Where are you anyway?”
“We’re at the at the Stained Glass Bistro in Evanston. Not too far from you, girl. If you’re at home then you need to get your ass to this restaurant before they leave,” Briana whispered. “He can’t see us. We’re in a booth towards the back.”
“No, no I know he’s watching the doors. He’ll notice me almost instantly. Can you take a picture of them or a video and send it to me?”
“I got you. I’m gonna lay low and have my girl Portia do it.”
“Thanks Bri.”
“You know I got you girl.”
After she hung up, my adrenaline shot through the roof. I wanted to go in his closet and destroy all of his shit. I wanted to take his golf clubs and beat the shit out of his computers. I huffed and cried realizing none of that was going to help my situation but only escalate it. He was already acting as if he hated me. I knew the next step would be divorce. I wasn’t ready to deal with that. I wasn’t ready to accept that this man, my husband, was no longer in love with me. The feeling of vomit churned in my stomach and as I raced to the toilet, it spewed from my mouth uncontrollably dropping to my knees and lifting the toilet seat.
I hurled all of the stress and terror from the inside of me into the round porcelain bowl of water. I hated the smell of toilets and smelling the Lysol blue watered sanitation fixture only increased the nauseating feeling erupting from my throat. I hurled a few more times before sitting down on the floor and leaning back against the wall with one hand still wrapped around the bowl. My phone chimed much like a doorbell interrupting my rest. I crawled out of the bathroom like demon from the crypts of darkness and into the bedroom, pissed at the sour taste still lingering in my mouth.
My fingers pressed the side button to wake it up and as the screen lit up it displayed one new media message from an unknown number. I opened it and couldn’t believe my fucking eyes. The message was from Briana but she was using Portia’s phone. Trent was holding his date’s hand lovingly. He was gazing deeply into her eyes and smiling like he was staring at his dream wife. It was as if he was with the person he had been dying to be with all
along. It was unbelievable. I thought my life was officially over. But as I squinted more and stared over at the girl’s profile, I knew it looked familiar. My hand sheltered my mouth, holding back the hysterical sob that was about to erupt from it the harder I stared down at the picture. This shit was past unreal.
Chapter 5
Monday Morning
“Put your leg up on my shoulder,” He moaned as he pumped like a jackrabbit in and out of me. “Put your fucking leg up.”
“Okay.”
Sweat soaked his flushed face and dripped right on top of mine. Our sun drenched bedroom lit up every drop on his body making him sparkle like diamonds. I looked up at him but he refused to look down at me, to look me in my eyes as he enjoyed the pussy he had professed vows to. I used my hands to grab his cheeks lovingly, hoping to force his view down to me but he held his ground, focusing his eyes on the black headboard in front of him. I should’ve known when he turned over rubbing my booty for morning sex that it was mostly for his own personal gain. He wasn’t even thinking about satisfying me. He was only thinking about himself. He only wanted to get his rocks off so he could get up and get his day started.
I didn’t even have the will to pretend to have an orgasm. I just lied there staring up at him, mystified by the very thought of him using me for his own selfish gain. When the masquerade was over, he allowed my legs to drop down on the bed while he ejaculated the remaining of his drippings inside of me. He probably never fucked his side bitches raw for fear that he might skeet up in them and get them pregnant. Naw, that’s what he had me for. I was the only pussy worthy of his nut. It was flattering but only for a second. It just pissed me off that I couldn’t be the only pussy he was sticking his dick in. I had to share him for reasons that were still unknown to me.
